Why We Serve
At Academy Christian Church, serving the community is at the heart of impacting our Community with the message of Christ and His love. We believe that by extending love and support to those around us, we reflect the teachings of Jesus Christ and strengthen our bonds with one another. Our commitment to service not only enriches the lives of those we help but also deepens our faith and connection to God’s work. Join us in making a tangible impact and experience the joy of giving back. There are several ways to serve our community, either directly with ACC, or by getting involved with one of our supported ministries.
Springs Food Pantry
1st & 3rd Fridays & Saturdays
While we don’t have a food pantry on campus, we support Springs Food Pantry, located at Zeal Church, 755 Citadel Drive W. in Colorado Springs. On the 1st and 3rd Fridays (8a-12p) we unload food trucks, organize the pantry and prepare boxes for distribution, and on Saturdays (12p-4p) we help set up, hand out food, then tear down.
Souper Saturdays
Twice per year – Spring and Fall
Super Saturday is our Spring & Fall serving opportunity event for ACC’s church family to get involved in serving different communities around Colorado Springs, all at once, usually right at ACC Northside. Projects range from making Snack or Activity Bags and Cards to preparing First Aid Kits.
Food Pantry Collection
Ongoing at ACC Northside
While we don’t have a food pantry on campus, we collect non-perishable food for Mercy’s Gate and Crossfire Ministries. Donations may be dropped off to the Mercy’s Gate/Crossfire Ministries Food Hutch near our Connection Center, and it will be taken to the local ministries for distribution.
Life Network Baby Items
Ongoing at ACC Northside
We support the life-affirming ministry of Life Network by collecting needed items for babies and small children at the Life Network hutch near our Connection Center. Common needs are always appreciated: newborn diapers, summer clothes and PJs, baby cereal & food, bottles, board books, baby shampoo, toddler shoes and backpack style diaper bags, or access their current most needed items below.
Westside Cares
Various times through ACC Westside
We love the Westside of Colorado Springs, so we help out with various events, collect supplies for their back-to-school drive and donations in support of Westside Cares.
The Lord's Dinner
Every 3rd Sunday at 2p at Westside
We are committed to uplifting our under-resourced neighbors on the Westside, reflecting the love of Christ through our actions as we offer compassion and support to our community. By providing this meal, we aim to share Christ’s love in a meaningful and tangible way with those in need.
Special Events Volunteers
Periodically through the year @ Westside
Volunteering at community outreach events like Trunk or Treat, Teacher Lunches, and back-to-school events at Westside is an incredible opportunity to connect, uplift, and inspire those around us. to reflect the love of Christ in practical ways within our community. Whether you’re handing out candy to smiling children, providing a warm meal to dedicated teachers, or helping families prepare for a new school year, your involvement makes a tangible difference.
