Darrin grew up in a small town in southern Wisconsin where he came to know Christ as a teenager. He received ministry degrees from Nebraska Christian College and Cincinnati Christian Seminary before taking his first full-time ministry position with Central Christian Church of Mesa, AZ in 1985. There he met and married his wife Julie. They moved their family to Colorado Springs in 1995 to serve alongside Bryan Myers in Security, Colorado. Darrin assumed the lead pastor position in 2004 and served in that role until he retired in 2023. He and Julie have two adult children and five grandchildren. He enjoys college and professional sports, world history and traveling with his wife.
